I'm going to try this topic at HF, see how it goes.
We remember making our own mix tapes, often confined to 60 or 100 minutes, then CDs came out and we had to limit them to 74 or 80 minutes, now with the mp3 players and the music libraries, our playlists can be any length at all. So what I would like to see from folks who are into playlists, is to see what you guys like. No limitations as to type of music (any language, any genre). Can be any theme, your favorite party list, driving list, workout list, remix list, dance hits, sad songs list, any theme at all! Please, please do not spam this thread, and please do not make requests here as this is Chit Chat, thanks. (If anyone uses iTunes and needs to know how to export their playlists to text or html files, I can help you with that)
I think this one was my first playlist that I played on the radio at HF, a rather fun oldies list for me:

Thank You Tji for sharing that list here. Love the Tandems! I had almost abandoned this thread because of lack of interest, let's hope folks post their playlists, I always find them very interesting, being playlist and not album oriented myself. I just recently purchased the Rudaali Solo CD because HMV left off the Asha version of Samay O Dheere Chalo on their combo with Lekin, where as BMG has not. Making that a triple tandem.
And for those who don't have a kind word to say, stay out of the thread, it's really that simple, this thread wasn't made to put down any person's musical tastes, no one should ever apologize for their taste in music. The thread is about posting your OWN favorites, how you listen to your songs, radio playlists are a natural fit for this thread as well.

was this version in the movie...? asnt this done privately...?
uffffffffffffffff..............i am sooooooooorrrrrrrrrry
that was for the twin song forum
kaise shift kiya jaaye..?
Poor BTM... I guess you could PM the Admin and ask him/her to do the shifting, I dunno if that would be a problem for posts with attachments. About Asha ji's version of Zaher deta hain, I dunno... if it's done privately, it's not a "true" tandem in my books.
And so "Colourful" too..
Thanks Deewani !

Another beautiful playlist Tji, lots of songs overlap onto some of mine as well! I love the names you give to them too, very nice, mine are quite boring, lol. Deewani's Oldies 1, 2, etc. Barbaad-e-Mohabbat 1, 2, etc (substitute real name for Deewani of course)
I had only played on the radio a few times, was in the early days of the radio when it was more of an impulse thing and a PW was not required. Too much good music is pouring in these days from so many friends that I am constantly listening to new old stuff lately, so when I am browsing I have my headphones on, thus do not participlate any longer, in either spinning or listening.
And thanks for your previous comments, much appreciated. Wow, that sounds like a dream vacation, usually when I have gone it has been for 6 weeks, while it's a long time, it's just when you really start getting settled and enjoy yourself that you have to leave.
Another one that features mostly duets, one of my dreamy playlists (too lazy to fix the numbering glitch).

Well am back with yet another loooong list of tandems. After I am done with the tandems, I am going to take a closer look at your play lists Deewz Ah the names... mine are pretty mundane most of the times, I have a Barbaad E Mohobbat too A net pal with much better imagination helped with Awaz Alag Andaz Alag ages ago.
I know all about 6 weeks feeling too short in India... and to think hubby dear can make it for only 2 I'd never be able to survive a 2 week trip, would definitely feel like a zombie all along!
Now on to the longest name ever - Kabhi hum kabhi tum kabhi khushi kabhi gham! :phew: It's tandems where (in the pair or more of songs)sometimes one sings, sometimes both, sometimes someone (or two) else altogether and the moods vary through the gamut... by and large one would be a solo and the other a duet.
Happy listening or listing (as in the case of Hari Ram ji )

Very interesting, fun thread... here's a car cd I made for a friend who is wanted not a very heavy but a very basic intro to RDB minus the ultra popular numbers...could not resist a couple of them though... And those who are going to crib about the exclusion of Gulzar... I am intending to make a separate combo of that...

That is a lovely beautiful playlist T, thanks for sharing it.
There better be no cribbing in this thread, lol, I thought I made that clear above. Difficult task to narrow down to so few songs, but the CD looks wonderful, nice job, Madhavi!
As usual, a beautiful name for a lovely playlist, thanks so much for posting it. Sorry I missed the test drive because some of my absolute favorites are in your list
.
I'm sure I posted the lyrics for Zindagi Bhar Nahin Bhoolegi - definately belongs here (if not will make sure I do, as they are tagged to my song files)....... you asked how I arrange, what order, just like that.... For example, the haseen shaam/raat ones would be grouped together in my playlist - we are thinking along the same lines.
Time period is irrelevant if the song fits the mood. But I do lean towards the chronological as well, but only sort of.
Always enjoy your posts!!
Your list reminded me of a few other songs, I'm stuck on the night aspect, lol, sorry:
Shaam Dekho Dhal Rahi Hai - Anjaan Ha Koi
Suhaani Raat Dhal CHuki - Dulari
Yeh Shaam Mastaani - Kati Patang
Woh Shaam Kuch Ajeeb Thi - Khamoshi
Parbaton Ke Pedon Par Shaam Ka Basera Hai- Shagoon (Shagun)
Huyi Shaam Unka Khayal Aa GAya - Mere Hamdam Mere Dost
Rang Aur Noor Ki (and then of course that leads to tandems, hehe) - Gazal
Ab Raat Guzarne Wali Hai (Aajao Tadapte Hai) - Awara (Awaar)
Two more shaams to add to your list Deewz...
Ye shaam ki tanhayiyan aise mein tera gham
Roz shaam aati thi magar aisi na thi
T thoroughly enjoyed your program the other day... and indeed the title was very fitting... dream on...
Thank you ladies for 'em kind words, my turn to wallow
Mmmm Raat and Shaam... now that's a whole other playlist! You know ever since I have had the liesure to enjoy music, I have begun to envy all those people that make a career of it. It must be soooo awesome to be musical, if one weren't too greedy/ ambitious. Anywhooo... I came here with two things on mah mind...
Deewz, did I say you were a prince among men and women?? (ref your latest lessons to newbies) Can you please demystify this for us lay peeps? (Whenever time permits ofc)
http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?showtopic=38889
Not that you aren't a prince too Madhz , just of a different kind. You and Mandy (Jaadugar ji) are gonna stop my dreaming in its tracks! When I am at that thread, I am reminded of yet another Gujju saying - "bhains agad bhagwat na thai". I feel like the audience must've felt in the Gargi - Y fellow debate!! That means Mandy's a prince too doesn't it? Ok I have rambled on long enough... back to playlists/ music et al
Nice additions Madhavi!
No, no, not the P word (again). But TY for your kind words.
I believe the deal there is, T, and I don't know for sure, b/c it's new to me, that if you register with esnips.com, you can upload a file, and then stream it musically, embedding it as Cyborg has shown, after the site generates a link for it. I'm not sure, but I think that this has the potential to replace the radio, only it's not live. In other words if someone missed your broadcast, and it was uploaded at esnips..... I would think people could listen to it at anytime, depending on their file size restrictions, etc.....
Thank you Prince

OK, so this is my first playlist. Guys and gals, don't take me to task if I don't measure upto expectations...
Here's one from me - titled Brood.
This is not a comprehensive playlist. Maybe, many good sad songs may have been left out and some moderate tracks may have taken position but I was focusing on incorporating only 20 tracks. But then, I guess its all a matter of personal choice. Your choice may differ from what I've put up. There are a few songs of post-1990 period which I've not taken up. Also, I've missed out many of the 50s songs. But again, that's what called a PLAYLIST. Keeps changing. Happens with me, at least. Will come up with more such playlists.
Your additions are welcome. Barson Purana - Hera Pheri missed out sadly. I should've included it.
Your comments & suggestions are most welcome...
Fantastic playlist Mujahid. Thanks for sharing it.
From your initial comments, I gather you may have hesitated to share it...
I am glad that was not the case, looking forward to more.
Also happy to see number 20 appear there.
Numbers 4, 17, & 19 reminded me of one of my playlists,
Since it matches your playlist's mood, I thought I'd share it here:

one more depressing one while I'm at it:
