Mehdi Hassan sahab and Madam are one of the most accomplished singers of the subcontinent.

Request all to share information on their songs together and of course the songs too. Would like to make a list of their duets here. If someone's made a list or know of songs do post.

Found the video of the first song I uploaded, Zuroorat Pae Jaandi Ae on the net.



They're singing for Najma and Zubair respectively. Both act so well and the song is a true delight. One of their best duets definitely.

Nice thread, HB. I have lot of their duets, will share happily, I am leaving for Lahore tomorrow for a week, will uplaod the songs when back from my trip.

The second song, u have uploaded, is from Duniya Paise Di (1971), music by Master Abdullah & Lyrics by Fayyaz Hashmi.

Dear Hildebrand... am very sorry to intervene.. but to my knowledge Fayyaz Hashmi sahab never penned a Punjabi song in his whole life.. and the Duet song of Dunya Paise Di was a major hit by Tanvir Naqvi sahab and a very popular one with special emphasis cuz Tanvir Naqvi sahab did not use to write much for Punjabi Movies (Though he had some 20+ movies to his credit when he died) So kindly include his name with one of the best songs he penned in Punjabi and oblige..
And i can very well understand why respected Inaam sahab got misled.. Its the Director of this movie ..viz.. Fayyaz Sheikh (who also penned one song in this movie too) so perhaps his name was in the mind of Inaam sahab and he said Fayyaz Hashmi..

Am giving you the external link of this song too here.. which is posted by Mazhar sahab (of Mazhar.dk/film which is the biggest source of Pakistani movies info with low margin of error.. He has uploaded it on YouTube with info inwhich Fayyaz Sheikh can be seen as Director (and lyricist ... strictly not of this duet under discussion) Thanx in advance..

Hi Hildebrand,
Mehdi Hassan sang the heighest numbers of his duets with Madam Noor Jehan with 45 songs in 40 films. This is only the second highest duets total by Madam Noor Jehan with any singer after her 51 duets with Masood Rana (incomplete figures). Mehdi Hassan-Noor Jehan duets are 25 Urdu songs in 24 films and 20 songs in 16 Punjabi films (incl. 2 un-released films). They sang three duets in two Punjabi films each. A. Hameed and Nazir Ali composed six duets each and 1974 was the most productive year with 10 duets by this pair.

I so love this Sassi Punnu song. Youtube par uska jhankaar version suna tha pehle. yeh mera sabse favourite hai unka duet (abhi tak sune gaanon mein).
Suna hai madam ke is film mein aur bhi gaane hain. Unhen bhi upload karna separate thread mein.
