hello friends,
i am uploading the first song sung by suraiya for films.
the film is nai duniya and the music is by maestro naushad.the film was released in 1942 and the lyrics were by tanveer naqvi

A small correction, the song from Nai Duniya is, "Boot Karoon Main Polish Babu". It was indeed the first recorded song of this beautiful actress - singer

singers are suraiya and shyam.lyrics are by dinanath madhok and music is by maestro naushad.naushad used the same tune for rafi-asha duet in tangewala''do diwane aaye''.

p.s. by the way one part of this song also inspired the interlude music of ' e lo main haari piya' of OPNayyar/geetadutt in Aar Paar. If you listen to the second interlude music of 'aaye jawani jaaye jawani' - you'll see that a very similar tune has been used by OPN for the interlude music of 'elo main haari piya'

you had u/led the song i wanted very much : 'Aaye jawani jaaye jawani' from the film Kanoon 1943, Music of Naushad

In return, i can only offer you a scan of the 78 rpm record of the same song - for your enjoyment !!

Members may observe that Naushad is credited as Naushad Ali ( as he used to be in those days). The word 'Lyrics' or 'Lyricist'
is not mentioned.- instead it is described as Composition (shortened as Comp) by D N Madhok. Only now did I observe that the
company name is shown as Columbia Graphophone Co. Ltd - I had always read it, automatically, as 'Gramophone' all these
days !! Also, note that the film is mentioned as a 'Hindustani' film - not a 'hindi' film as it is referred to nowadays. And the song
name is written in Urdu also. This was 1943.

Oh ! these 78 rpm records sure had some character and individuality !! I remember, my younger brother could pile them up
on the record changer (all the songs that he wanted to hear) without knowing how to read !!

I missed 'aaye javani jaaye javani' and the one from Sanjog.
Please do ul them again. Then there is her ace song from
Do Dil /1948: chandaa kii chaandnii me.n haaye raamaa, jiyaa
meraa Dol gayaa. I need this song too.

A peach of a song in the raw young voice of Suraiya. Its 78rpm
was sold at a premium. Listen to this recording till you get a
better one.

Seems like the title differs from the song. Title:"Aye Jawani, Aye Jawani", whereas the song is "Aye Jawani, Jaye Jawani"?

I am curious as to how you digitized the center of the 78 rpm record? I have never seen a
better quality image.

Do you have a good quality recording of Suraiya solo from Mr. Lambu I think. It goes 'Soyi hai kahan jakar taqdeer mohobbat ki'. I have this song but the recording quality is not good, hence this request.
